Embark on a thrilling 4-Day Mt Kenya Hiking Sirimon Route One Way experience with Trav-Interactive. This trek follows the scenic Sirimon Route, known for its gentle gradient, beautiful alpine landscapes and rewarding views of Mount Kenya’s high-altitude terrain.
The hike takes you from Sirimon Gate through forest, heathland and moorland landscapes to Old Moses Camp, Shipton’s Camp and finally Point Lenana at 4,985 metres. It is ideal for adventurous travellers looking for a moderately challenging Mount Kenya climb with spectacular scenery and a less-crowded route.
This package is priced for solo travellers and per-person-sharing travellers, with overnight stays at mountain camps during the trek.

Tour Plan
Day 1 Nairobi to Sirimon Gate and Old Moses Camp
Pick up at a central location in Nairobi and depart for Nanyuki by 8:00 am. After a brief stop in Nanyuki, proceed to Sirimon Gate, where you will have lunch and begin the trek. The trail winds uphill through forest and later opens into heathland before reaching Old Moses Camp at 3,300 metres above sea level. Dinner and overnight stay at Old Moses Camp.
Day 2 Old Moses Camp to Shipton’s Camp
After breakfast, follow the track uphill and continue through moorland landscapes, crossing Ontulili River and Likii North. Proceed towards Mackinder’s Valley, enjoying panoramic views towards the main peaks. Dinner and overnight stay at Shipton’s Camp at 4,200 metres above sea level.
Day 3 Shipton’s Camp to Point Lenana and Old Moses Camp
Leave Shipton’s Camp at 3:00 am and climb towards Point Lenana through steep rocky terrain. Arrive at Point Lenana at approximately 6:30 am for sunrise views, then descend back to Shipton’s Camp for breakfast. Later, continue down to Old Moses Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 Old Moses Camp to Sirimon Gate and Nairobi
After breakfast, walk down through the rain forest for 2 hours to Sirimon Gate, where we check out the park and board your waiting vehicle back to Nairobi or onward destination. The vehicle can also pick you up at the Old Moses camp upon your request. Drop off at the central location point in Nairobi CBD.
