Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

On arrival at the airport. After clearing through immigration and customs our representative will meet you outside the customs hall at the pick-up point and assist you with your luggage as they escort you to the vehicle for a transfer to Nairobi. Accommodation at you previous booked hotel/lodge.

Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Elementaita

Depart Nairobi and start of drive to Lake Elementaita with a brief stop over at the Great rift valley view point arriving on time for your lunch. After lunch you will have guided bird walks along the lake, conducted by the resident naturalist, with tools such as the binoculars and a birding list provided. The Conservancy plays host to 450 bird species, and birding experts report up to 60 species of birds a day – a birder’s paradise including the flamingos and also home to great white pelicans, great crested grebe and is an important stopover for over 350 migratory bird species. Dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Lake Elementaita – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast you enjoy birdwatching till midday when you will be driven just less than an hour to the neighbouring lake, Lake Naivasha which is a freshwater lake in Kenya, just outside the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County, North West of Nairobi. It is part of the Great Rift Valley. The name derives from the local Maasai name Nai’posha, meaning “rough water” because of the sudden storms which can arise. At midday, you arrive at Lake Naivasha, check-in at your lodge followed by lunch. Afternoon bird watching activities on the shore of the lake within the area of your hotel. The Lake Naivasha surrounding area supports many birds species, the globally threatened species include Grey-crested Helmeted-shrike, Basra Reed Warbler, Lesser Flamingo, along with large congregations of Red-knobbed Coot, African Spoonbill, and Little Grebe, can be seen here at Lake Naivasha. Dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Hell’s Gate National Park

After breakfast you will proceed to Hell’s Gate National Park where you will cycle in the wild with the animals, you will also be exploring the beautiful scenic jagged cliffs and the volcanic pinnacles of Fischer’s and Central tower. Narrow canyons that cut into the rock further ahead offer the opportunity of a very scenic walk. In the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Hell’s Gate National Park –Lake Nakuru

Departure and arrival in Lake Nakuru National Park, just in time for lunch; you will head to one of the eating places in the park, have lunch and after lunch you will head to Lake Nakuru for an afternoon of birding, watching the pink flamingos and other birds like the fish eagles, pelicans etc as they go on with their daily lives on the lake. You will be amazed at the beauty of this blue lake combined with the pink colour of the flamingos. You will also get a chance to see water animals like water bucks and hippos while on your birding spree.
This experience will last the whole afternoon and after you will go check into your accommodation, refresh have dinner and an overnight rest.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru

On this day you will have guided bird walks along the lake, conducted by the resident naturalist, with tools such as the binoculars and a birding list provided. The Conservancy plays host to 450 bird species, and birding experts report up to 60 species of birds a day – a birder’s paradise including the flamingos and also home to great white pelicans, great crested grebe and is an important stopover for over 350 migratory bird species. Return to the lodge in the evening.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru- Nairobi.

After breakfast at the lodge depart for Nairobi where upon arrival you will be transferred to your Nairobi hotel or the airport for your flight home.
