Tour Overview

The secret to a Kenyan safari is knowing when and where to be in order to enjoy the great adventure. This tour takes you to calving season down Mara area, where an estimated 500, 000 young wildebeests are born, Mid Northern Kenya to watch some of the best protected elephant families with plenty of hunts and kills happening as the concentrated herds attract a good number of lions, cheetah and hyenas. Parks to be visited are Samburu National Park and Mara National Reserve.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Pick up from hotel/airport after breakfast and embark on a drive to Samburu National Reserve where you are expected to arrive in time for lunch. After lunch you will head for an afternoon game drive spotting animals such as lions, leopards, reticulated giraffe, elephants, long necked gerenuk antelope, Gravy’s zebra and Beisa Oryx among others. Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

Wake up in time for breakfast then proceed for full day game drive exploring all that Samburu has to offer, from the elephants, the rare gerenuk, elands, gravy’s zebra etc. Stops will also be made in local Samburu community villages to experience the intricate community culture. Day 3: Samburu to Aberdare National Park

Depart Samburu after breakfast in the morning for Aberdare National Park arriving in time for lunch at Aberdare Country Club or similar for dinner and overnight. Floodlit game viewing. Picturesque, steep forested ravines and open moorland characterize the Aberdare National Park. Day 4: Aberdare to Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast depart for Masai Mara, one of East Africa’s most famous reserves, The Mara consists of undulating hills and great rolling grasslands that sustain some of the most varied wildlife in Africa, if not the world. Arrive in time for lunch at your pre-booked lodge/camp. Afternoon game viewing, where lion, elephant, cheetah, giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest, gazelle and other plains game abound, not forgetting the hundreds of species of birds. Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve

Full day is dedicated to game spotting in this sprawling reserve. You can watch a lion, cheetah or leopard hunting or feasting on its kill. Day 6: Masai Mara to Nairobi
