This 11 days Kenya Game Safari is an immersive journey through Kenya’s iconic wildlife destinations and national parks. You’ll explore Amboseli National Park, Samburu National Reserve, Mount Kenya, Nyahururu Falls (also known as Thomson Falls), Lake Baringo, Lake Bogoria, Lake Nakuru National Park, the Great Rift Valley, and the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli

After breakfast, you will be picked from your hotel in Nairobi and drive southwards to Amboseli National Park lying on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro the tallest freestanding mountain in the world and the tallest mountain on the African Continent. As you enter the park you will be ushered in by the magnificent backdrop of the snowcapped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, head straight to your lodge for lunch and have an afternoon game drive. On the game drive you will be able to see large herds of elephants, buffaloes, wildebeests, leopards, lions, gazelles among others. Day 2: Explore Amboseli National Park

Following breakfast at your lodge, prepare for an entire day dedicated to morning and afternoon game drives within the park. This day grants ample time to soak in the awe-inspiring scenery, notably the magnificent backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, soaring at an altitude of 5,896 meters. On clear days, its snow-capped summit presents a breathtaking sight. Amboseli National Park is renowned for hosting some of Africa’s largest elephant herds, boasting remarkable tuskers. Aberdare National Park is home to over 40 species of wildlife inhabiting in the forested mountain range and the upper moorlands, these animals include elephants, olive baboons, leopards, spotted hyenas, black and white colobus monkeys, bongo, golden cats, and African wild cat among others. Day 7: Mount Kenya to Lake Baringo

After breakfast, depart from Mount Kenya and drive towards Lake Baringo, making a stopover en route at Nyahururu Falls, also known as Thomson Falls, named after Joseph Thomson, an explorer of the late 1800s. These falls, shaped by the Ewaso Narok River, cascade over 72 meters. Following this visit, proceed to the Shallow Soda Lake Bogoria, renowned for its abundant flamingo population of over 2 million and boasting a variety of more than 200 bird species. The lake is famous for its hot springs and geysers, the main attractions in the area.

Continuing the journey, reach Lake Baringo, the most northern of Kenya’s small Rift Valley Lakes. This lake is adorned with papyrus and flourishing acacia forests, providing a habitat for hippos, crocodiles, and easily visible monitor lizards along the shores. After the optional boat ride, opt for a nature walk around the lake’s vicinity to spot more bird species or visit a local Njemps village for a glimpse into their culture, traditional lifestyle, and fishing techniques. Day 9: Lake Baringo to Lake Nakuru National Park

Rise and enjoy breakfast before checking out to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in the afternoon for a game drive. During this excursion, anticipate sightings of warthogs, waterbucks, buffaloes, reedbucks, and occasionally, elusive leopards. The park is also home to both white and black rhinos, along with an impressive birdlife tallying over 400 species, including the iconic flamingoes.

Day 10: Lake Nakuru National Park
