10-Days Epic Honeymoon Bush and Beach Safari

Tour Overview

A longer beach retreat with a shorter safari option suits the needs of some of our European guests who are planning a first time or repeat bush and beach trip to the East African coastline in Kenya. You can then spend a few days on the beachfront then journey out into parks and reserves like Tsavo, Amboseli for two nights for safari game driving, village visits, nature walks, hiking and other wilderness activities before returning to your seaside hotel for the remaining period of your vacation.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

At 8 o’clock you will be picked up from your Nairobi Hotel and commence the drive to Samburu checking in time for lunch. Later at late noon commence an evening game drive to look for the nocturnal hunters coming out from their day slumber to start their hunts. Return back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner ending with good time for resting at the lodge. Day 2: Explore Samburu

Have breakfast at 6:30 am and at 7 am, leave for a full day game viewing in the reserve. Samburu hosts species rarely found elsewhere, known as the “Samburu Special Five.” These include the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. Witnessing these distinct creatures is a highlight of visiting the reserve. Besides the “Special Five,” Samburu is home to elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and various antelope species, offering excellent opportunities for game viewing. Day 3: Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park

Early morning breakfast and thereafter check out and proceed to Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park where you expect to see the endangered species of the white rhino, roschild giraffe, flamingoes which if not many can also be seen in large volumes at Amboseli National Park the next day. Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Amboseli National Park

Begin your day with an early breakfast at 6 AM, followed by checking out and embarking on a drive to Amboseli National Park via the Trans-African highway. Along the approximately 8-hour journey, there will be periodic stops for bathroom breaks to ensure comfort. Upon arrival, check in at lodge, enjoy lunch, and take a brief rest. Later in the afternoon, around 3:30 PM, set out for an exhilarating game drive. Seek out Amboseli’s renowned residents, particularly the majestic elephants. With luck, spot predators and their prey such as zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos, all while enjoying the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Day 5: Amboseli National Park

Following breakfast at the camp, dedicate the entire day to exploring the park, carrying packed lunches for the excursion. Your goal: seek out the park’s famed inhabitants, including the renowned predators and their counterparts like zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos, all against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Day 6: Amboseli to Tsavo West National Park

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge, then depart for Tsavo West National Park. While en-route, engage in a game drive, soaking in the wildlife sightings along the way. Arrive in time for a delightful lunch at lodge. Post-lunch, set off for an afternoon game drive within the park. Tsavo West introduces you to the extraordinary Shetani Lava flow, providing a moment to marvel at the lava cones and the stark landscape. Enter Tsavo West via the Chyulu gate and proceed to the renowned Mzima Springs. Here, you will visit the hippo sanctuary, with hopes of spotting the endangered black rhino and other fascinating animals.

Day 7: Tsavo West to Diani Beach

Early morning breakfast with a check out and do a game drive en-route out of the park and commence your journey to Diani with lunch on the way. The journey will be on a train to the Mombasa then onward transfer to Diani.

Day 8: Wasini Dolphin Tour

Early morning departure from your beach resort or lodge for amazing tour of Wasini Dolphin adventure. The scenic route shall take you through lush coconut and cashew nut farm lands and the villages of the Digo people. On arrival at Shimoni Jetty, board a motorized glass bottom Dhow (boat) which will sail you through an enchanting seascape of islands to the richest marine park in Kenya (Kisite island). Being escorted by Dolphin expert makes this Wasini trip more enjoyable. Kisite Island natural Coral Garden is where you will snorkel and marvel at the prolific marine life. A traditional sumptuous sea food lunch will be served on board to ensure maximum time with the Dolphin or opt to proceed to Wasini island restaurant. Mupunguti island exploration provides good vantage points for watching the Dolphin’s play Grounds and leisurely tranquil silence to listen out for Dolphin Whistles blowing off. Day 9: Diani Beach Full Day

You have full day at leisure on the beach. After breakfast, you can have a relaxed day at your beach hotel, soak in the tropical sun and the white sandy beaches. Day 10: Diani to Nairobi

Breakfast at the resort and thereafter transfer to the Mombasa SGR station for your train back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon either at Airport for check off or your hotel. Flights to Nairobi from Ukunda can be arranged at an extra.
